We would like to wish our members and followers a very Happy New Year.
For our first meeting of 2025 we welcome back Roy Carless who needs no introduction. Roy, who was an art teacher in Hartlepool, both in school and evening classes, is a well-known artist of both portraiture and landscapes. He has been a member of Hartlepool Art Club for very many years and has demonstrated his artistic skills in both acrylic and oils at our meetings on numerous occasions. This time however, he is turning the tables on us and is asking us to bring our painting and drawing materials to the meeting while he is providing us with a model for us to try our hands at life drawing. The emphasis is on COLOUR, so turning up with just an HB pencil will be frowned upon! Think pencil crayons, pastels, water colours, acrylics, gouache etc, etc. Anyone who has ever been taught by Roy will know that he is unfailingly encouraging of his students’ work so Wednesday 8th January at the Gallery in Church Square should be an exciting start to our Club year. This, as always, is open to Guests as well as Club Members.
