John was born in 1949 and has lived in Hartlepool all his life. He studied Graphics and Illustration at Hartlepool College of Art from 1979 to 1983.
He is a prolific artist, sometimes producing several detailed paintings and sketches each week. John joined the Art Club only last year (2018), but now exhibits regularly.
John likes Impressionism and the work of the Glasgow School and Pre-Raphaelites. He paints in oils and acrylics using a very distinctive rich style.
